Graeme Barwick and a number of Aussies made their annual pilgrimage to the Adams in February
"My brother Bruce and i along with Peter Ward attended the 10th Adams Kart meeting at Riverside USA a three day event with race day 1 Feb, this was my seventh time there and once again it was fantastic, meeting and spending time with many of the legends of our sport has always been a privilege Bruce had purchased a brand new Bug Sprinter from Faye Pierson mounting a Mc 91 modified by Graham Powles and competing in the senior sportsman class and after a thrilling drive he took first place, also receiving the International Long Distant Award a true Vintage Karter as he last raced 43 years ago.
I competed in the Rear Dual class against the twin Mc 101 running my Maico and what a ride it was Peter Ward had it tuned to perfection it was a case of sit in it push the peddles and hang on tight we took the first heat with Eddie Lawson taking the second that tied us on points then in the final i led for five and a half laps then was passed down the back straight by Eddie giving him a much deserved win.
Both Bruce and I wish to thank Peter Ward for his unwavering support without this we could not of done so well thanks Peter. We will be back next year representing Australian Vintage Karters and flying the Aussie flag again."
